Will my business flyers break any laws?
I’m planning on making advertisements for a cafe business. An advantage that this business has over Starbucks and Coffee Bean is that they offer larger cups (24 oz for both hot and cold drinks) at much cheaper prices. I’m planning on creating a small flyer for the business. I want it to be edgy to grab people’s attention. On the front, I want to place a picture of Pamela Anderson’s face (which I’ll purchase from corbis.com for $500) with the words “Bigger cups?” written next to her face, and on the back “How about bigger cups at cheaper prices?”, with a comparison of our cup sizes/prices and a small menu on the side. Can I get sued for placing a picture of Pamela Anderson’s face on my flyer? Is this still considered celebrity endorsement/promotion? (Because it’s not like I’m writing “Pamela Anderson loves our coffee”, just “Bigger cups?”)
Thanks.
You want to use her picture for commercial purposes without first obtaining her permission? I’m sure she could sue you for that.
To be certain, just ask Corbis what rights they give you. They’re the ones who want to charge you $500, so surely they can answer a simple question. I wouldn’t really trust them though since they probably just want the $500.
